Richard Schiff, star of ABC The good doctorand his wife, actress Sheila Kelley, who makes recurring appearances on ABC’s medical drama, tested positive for COVID-19, which the two revealed on social media.
Schiff said his positive result came a week ago on November 3rd.
“We are being quarantined and recovering in our Vancouver home,” Kelley wrote.
According to sources, production will continue on The good doctor Vancouver continued while Schiff and Kelley self-isolate. The schedule has been revised to reflect her temporary absence.
The duo are believed to have contracted the virus outside of work. An on-sen COVID transmission automatically triggers a production standstill.
Both Schiff and Kelley spoke of the toll that COVID-19 is taking against them.
“This virus is a slippery sucker,” wrote Kelley. “One minute you feel almost fine and the next you can’t catch your breath. The symptoms change radically daily and even hourly.”
Schiff said, “This is tough,” as both sent encouraging messages to others battling the virus.
On The good doctor Schiff plays Dr. Aaron Glassman, Shaun’s (Freddie Highmore) mentor and good friend. Kelley plays Glassman’s wife.
On election day, I tested positive for Covid-19. This was the most bizarre week of our lives. @thesheilakelley is positive too. That is hard. We are determined to find a way to health again. We’re looking for everyone struggling with this cause. Love from here.
