A 51-year-old woman from Illinois gave birth to her own granddaughter.
Julie Loving agreed that year to be the “pregnancy mother” for her daughter who couldn’t conceive herself – and gave birth to a healthy girl on November 2nd, Good Morning America reported.
“My mother was an absolute rock star from a difficult delivery,” wrote Loving’s daughter Breanna Lockwood in a post announcing the birth of little Briar Juliette.
“The sacrifices she made to bring this little piece of heaven into our world take my breath away.”
It was Loving who brought up the idea of being the surrogate mother to Breanna and her husband, Aaron.
“I started talking to her about it. She wasn’t on board and thought I was crazy, but I just kept track of it, ”Loving told GMA.
“I’ve run 19 marathons and done a lot of triathlons,” she said. “I felt like my health could do it and I had really easy pregnancies with my two children.”
Lockwood said her mother saved her from the heartbreak of infertility.
“Struggling with infertility was the hardest thing I ever had to go through,” Lockwood told the show.
“When you have a plan for your life and then something like infertility gets in the way, I felt like I couldn’t see what I had imagined that it could be taken away from me.”
Lockwood and her mom shared their trip on Instagram, documenting the entire and sometimes difficult trip. On November 2nd, all love Briar gave birth to Juliette Lockwood, her own granddaughter.
“When I hold my daughter in my arms, my heart bursts,” Lockwood wrote on Instagram.
“The feeling that I would do absolutely anything that is needed for this child shines through me as I look at them and reflects what my mother did for me.”
Briar Julliette will not remain in the dark about her amazing birth story, said her delighted mother, promising “to be really open to her at a very young age and to tell her when we feel that she can understand … and you just to tell the truth . ”
