UConn Women’s Basketball temporarily suspended team activities for at least 14 days on Monday after a member of the program tested positive for COVID-19.
The number 3 huskies will resume play when it is determined to be safe by medical staff.
As a result, UConn will not be participating in the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame Challenge, which is slated for this weekend at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Mississippi State No. 6, Quinnipiac, and Maine are the other teams scheduled to attend the event, the status of which was unknown until Monday night.
Also, UConn won’t play Louisville No. 5 in the Jimmy V Women’s Classic on December 4th at Mohegan Sun. As of Monday, another team was sought to play the Cardinals.
The Huskies’ Big East opener on December 6th at Seton Hall has been postponed.
Subject to medical clearance, UConn can play against Butler at the Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut on December 15th on the current schedule.
