According to new research by Deutsche Bank, several emerging market currencies could hit new highs before the end of 2020 due to optimism about coronavirus vaccines.
The German lender expects a Covid-19 shot by British pharmaceutical giant Astrazeneca and Oxford University to be more affordable for low- and middle-income countries, thanks in part to cheaper production and distribution costs.
Earlier this week, interim clinical trial results found that the Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine had an average of 70% effectiveness in protecting against the virus. When the dosage regimen was adjusted, the researchers added that the number could go up to 90%.
