In federal court documents against the Real housewives from Beverly Hills Cast and estranged husband Wednesday a class action lawsuit accused the couple of embezzling money from accident victims to protect both their movie and their expensive lifestyles.
On December 2, Page 6 announced that Edelson PC filed a lawsuit against Erika, 49, and Thomas, 81, on behalf of the victims of Lion Air Flight 610 who believe their settlement funds were stolen.
Thomas and his company, Girardi Keese, “are on the verge of financial collapse and are in a downward spiral of rising debt and dwindling funds” and his “need to fund an outrageous lifestyle for himself and his future ex-wife, Erika.” Jayne, ”explained the lawsuit.
“While Erika publicly filed for divorce this month after divorce and conviction, this ‘divorce’ is simply a sham attempt to fraudulently protect Tom and Erika’s money from those attempting to collect the debt owed by Tom and his law firm, GK.” Suit went on, noting that this is not the first time Thomas has been accused of putting money in his pocket for his clients.
He “continues to use this money to find his and Erika’s lavish lifestyle, release personal guarantees, repay loans, forward the money to friends and family, and pay off other outstanding debts,” according to court documents.
Erika’s single “Exxpen $ ive” and her claims of spending $ 40,000 a month on its release were cited in the lawsuit as reasons for her and Thomas ‘alleged misappropriation of the victims’ funds.
After Erika’s divorce last month, the RHOBH Star released a statement.
“After much deliberation, I decided to end my marriage to Tom Girardi,” she told E! News. “This is not a frivolous or easy step. I have great love and respect for Tom and for our years and the life we have built together. “
“It is my absolute desire to continue this process with the respect and privacy that both Tom and I deserve,” continued Erika. “I ask others to give us this privacy too.”
