I published a new one As part of Piece at The dropout this evening. There has been a lot war of stars The continuity sank into the second season of The Mandalorian, with Boba Fett returning on the show after his apparent death Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jediand the live action introductions from characters like Bo Katan and Ahsoka Tano The Clone Wars.
This is interesting in large part because of the first season of The Mandalorian It was nice to aim at a wider variety of war of stars Nostalgia, things that looked like existing elements of continuity rather than things that were existing elements of war of stars Continuity. The second season is much harder war of stars Cross-promotion with references intended to motivate viewers to add additional material. This is a fine example of transmedia storytelling in the streaming age where it is not enough to attract fans. They have to keep the services.
Streaming services hold on to existing subscribers with value, and Disney seems to have found that continuity has value of its own. In its second season The Mandalorian It’s increasingly feeling like a game for the other riches the streaming service has to offer, and a promise that any subscriber who doesn’t cancel after the season has ended will have a treasure trove of archival footage to use as they please .
