The novel coronavirus made its rounds worldwide after first surfacing in 2019 in China’s Wuhan province, Hubei – and today’s biggest stars aren’t immune.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were among the first high profile names to test positive for COVID-19. On March 11, the Oscar winner shared the symptoms the couple had during their time in Australia, where Hanks was working on preproduction for Baz LuhrmannElvis Presley biography.
“We felt a bit tired, like we had colds and some body aches,” he said Forrest Gump Actor said of him and Wilson. “Rita had some chills that came and went.”

Almost a week after Hanks and Wilson’s diagnosis was confirmed, Idris Elba announced that he was also infected with the virus. He announced via Twitter on Monday that he had decided to be tested after learning that a person he was in contact with tested positive on March 13.
The day after it was pronounced, the English actor announced that Hank’s confession inspired him to speak out about his own condition. “I’m really proud of Tom Hanks who is also someone in public who came out and said he did and was public about it,” he said Cats Actor said in a Twitter livestream video. “I was really motivated by Tom’s move there.”
