President-elect Joe Biden has named the newest White House staff – these will round off digital operations – as the new administration prepares to conduct most of its public communications digitally as the nation continues to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic.
Biden has named Rob Flaherty, who served as the Biden campaign digital director, as its director of digital strategy. He has also named Jamie Lopez as Director of Platforms. Brendan Cohen, who previously served as assistant editor-in-chief for the Biden campaign, has been appointed platform manager. Jonathan Hebert becomes Biden’s video director and Carahna Magwood becomes Biden’s creative director. Both had similar roles during Biden’s campaign.
Other names complete the digital board:
- Abbey Pitzer: designer
- Olivia Raisner: traveling content director
- Rebecca Rinkevich and Christian Tom: Deputy Directors for Digital Strategy
- Cameron Trimble: Director of Digital Engagement
“Communicating transparently and honestly with the American people is one of the most important roles a president should do,” Biden said in a statement. “This team of diverse experts has a broad range of digital strategy experience and will help connect the White House with the American people in new and innovative ways.”
