Hello everybody! The year 2021 is drawing to a close fast as we all prepare to celebrate and usher in the new year. For those keeping track of things, 2020 wasn’t exactly the best year for everyone, including the film industry, as several large and small releases were mixed up and / or delayed. In the coming weeks, I’ll be posting my personal top ten “Best” and “Worst” lists of 2020 movies. Look at her!
The start of 2021 is just around the corner, and this year looks very promising for films from different categories and genres. Now, on the eve of twilight 2020, here’s a look at my fifteen most anticipated films of 2021. As an aside, this list is a combination of films that were originally thought to be released in 2021 and some that were originally It was believed to be released in 2020 but has been pushed into 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While there are a lot of movies I’m looking forward to in 2021, not all of them will fit into this 15-choice list. So without further ado….
# 15 – Godzilla versus Kong
Release date: March 21stst2021
Pendant: N / A
Originally it should be released in 2020. Godzilla versus Kong was a movie that was pushed into this year, so it’s back on this list and in the same number position. Legendary’s MonsterVerse was indeed what it takes for big-screen monster cinemas. Fight the larger than life kaiju monsters in the remake of Godzilla and his arsenal of fan favorites (Ghidorah, Rodan, Mothra, etc.). Now, Godzilla versus KongGodzilla (i.e., the King of Monsters), the fourth feature in the MonsterVerse franchise, is expected to compete against Kong (the presiding ruler of Skull Island). How or why these two titans have to fight each other is still a mystery, but I am sure it will be a huge monster blockbuster that is sure to test each of the gigantic beings in a battle for supremacy.
# 14 – Matrix 4
Release date: December 22nd2021
Pendant: N / A
I personally love The matrix Trilogy It was revolutionary for the time during its first theatrical release, spawning a multitude of imitators, parodies, and tributes to these expansive science fiction cyberpunk adventures. After graduating in the 2003s The Matrix RevolutionsThere were definitely some lingering themes in the narrative, some of which were half explained, several spin-off projects. Now, after years, a fourth entry in The matrix The saga is just around the corner and I hope there are answers. While little is known about the plot of the feature film, the film itself is directed by Lana Wachowskis (co-director of the original trilogy) as well as Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Lambert Wilson, and Daniel All Bernhardt Return To repeat their character roles for the film. So, will the movie be a hit or a flop … only time will tell!
# 13 – The Incantation: The Devil Made Me Do It
Release date: June 4thth2021
Pendant: N / A
Originally it should be released in 2020. The incantation: The devil made me do it was another movie pushed into this year, which is why it’s back on this list and in the same number position. The Warrens are back! Since the release of The Summoning 2This cinematic horror universe has expanded into various spin-off films The nun, The curse of La Llorona, Annabelle: Creation, and Annabelle Come home;; Find each of these aspirations to achieve blending results. Now, The incantation: The devil made I do it, the third Conjure up Film (and the eighth overall entry in the Summon the universe) tries to return to his “horror glory” as the characters of Eddie and Lorraine Warren (played again by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) examine a boy’s soul that takes them beyond anything they have ever seen before. What horrors await you in this third Conjure up is unknown, but I look forward to seeing what mysterious and demonic spirits Warren uncover.
# 12 – The suicide squad
Release date: 6th of Augustth2021
Pendant: N / A
There is no doubt that 2016 Suicide squad was a bit mixed up and some moviegoers enjoyed it, others hated it and while some fell somewhere between these two extremes. Regardless, it wasn’t the movie people were expecting. So the release is from 2021 The suicide squad, the sequel to the film from 2016, generates a lot of curiosity and anticipation for its release. The summary of the plot goes as follows: Detained convicts of Task Force X are sent on a new mission to relax the sentence to the South American island of Corto Maltese to destroy Jotunheim, a prison and laboratory from the Nazi era that houses political prisoners recorded and experiments carried out. With an act like this, you know that it will be “balls on walls” crazy about action and violence. With Guardian of the Galaxy Director James Gunn at the helm and supports a large recognizable cast (some of which are repeating theirs Suicide squad Roles from the film 2016), 2021 The suicide squad will surely leave its mark on the summer blockbuster releases.
# 11 – In the heights
Release date: 18th of Juneth2021
Pendant: N / A (didn’t post on my blog, but be sure to check out the trailer online)
Another 2020 film release that has been postponed to the 2021 film year. There is no doubt that Lin-Manuel Miranda is an extraordinary visionary of both music and the theater stage, of which the popular play Hamilton is a prime example. Before Hamilton, however, Miranda wrote another stage musical that became a hit, and now the story called In the Heights is on the verge of cinematic treatment. In reference to the close community of Washington Heights, the story focuses on the story of Usnavi (Anthony Ramos), who saves every penny from his everyday life when he hopes for a better life, imagines it and sings. The film version is full of color, style, and musical numbers In the heightsthat is directed by Crazy Rich Asian Director Jon M. Chu appears to be the lead candidate for an entertaining release in the summer of 2021.
# 10 – The Many Saints of Newark
Release date: March 12thth2021
Pendant: N / A
There is no doubt that HBO’s hour-long drama series The Sopranos has established itself in television history; Present a new take on the motives and nuances of the mafia gangster genre by following New Jersey-based Italian-American gangster Tony Soprano and the difficulties he faces while trying to restore his family (and his inner demons) to equalize in the role of leader of a criminal organization. The many saints of Newark is a prequel film to the famous TV series that offers a more cinematic glimpse into the life of a younger Tony Soprano (played by the son of the late James Gandolfini) and his parents (Giovanni “Johnny Boy” and Livia Soprano). and some other notable ones soprano Character. With the film by Alan Taylor and a script by Sopranos Creator David Chase, The Many Saints of Newark, wants to be a piece of the whole pie from the illustrious TV show.
# 9 – Death on the Nile
Release date: 17th of Septemberth2021
Pendant: Death on the Nile Official Trailer
Another 2020 film pushed back into 2021. In 2017, Agatha Christie’s classic crime thriller returned to the screen for a current update of the cinematic adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express, with actor / director Kenneth Branagh, who takes on the double duty of directing the film and plays the lead role of the famous detective Hercule Poirot. Although the film had mixed reviews, the film still made its money back (and a few more); green light a future sequel to be put into work. Death on the Nile is the next theater project (adapted again from Christie’s original novel) and sees Poirot’s super sleuthing work again to solve another riddle. With Branagh back in the director’s chair / leading role and with other star cast actors (e.g. Armie Hammer, Gal Gadot, Russell Brand, Letitia Wright, Rose Leslie and Annette Bening), I can’t wait to see this movie….
# 8 – A Quiet Place Part II
Release date: April 23approx2021
Pendant: A Quiet Place Part II Official Trailer
Another film originally slated for 2020 and delayed until the 2021 film year. There is no question that 2018 A quiet place was a rather surprising “sleeper” hit that no one saw coming; They conjure up exciting moments and thrills in the playful premise of a family who survives in a country infested by noise-hearing monsters. Its continuation, A quiet place part II seems to continue the narrative of each family in finding the Abbott’s story clean, including the return of Emily Blunt and her company to survive and plan their next move to thwart and dodge the creatures that roam the land. After the lead cast returned (as well as some new ones) and director John Krasinski returned to lead the project, A quiet place part II will surely bring the tension back to all of us when we remember the age-old saying “Silence is golden!”
# 7 – F9
Release date: 28th of Mayth2021
Pendant: F9 official trailer
Another film that was originally planned for 2020 and has been postponed to the calendar year 2021. Yes, despite the “larger than life” exploits and bombastic action scenes that the latter entries have become, I’ll admit that I love that in the first place Fast & Furious Franchise. Sure, there are many moments on the series that have gotten ridiculous and defy the odds, but it’s one of the pointless popcorn movies I loved in the movie escape. With the proven success of the 2017s The fate of the angry, F9, the ninth entry in the franchise. will roar in the summer of 2021; with all the high-octane action and exaggerated stunts of Vin Diesel’s character Dominic Toretto and his entire crew. With many of the returning players repeating their roles from the previous films as well as some new ones (i.e. John Cena and Michael Rooker), Fast & Angry 9 is ready to be a fun summer blockbuster. With a story about the return of Charlize Theron’s cipher and Dom’s brother, F9 is sure to be another ridiculously hilarious act from Toretto’s team who save the world. And personally I can’t wait to see it …
# 6 – Raya and the last dragon
Release date: March 12thth2021
Pendant: Raya and the Last Dragon Official Teaser Trailer
Long ago in the world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when sinister monsters known as the Druun threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, the same monsters have returned and it is up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the last dragon to stop the Druun for good. On her journey, however, she will learn that it will take more than dragon magic to save the world – it will also take trust. With such a plot summary…. They know it’s going to be a great Disney movie. After the success of his previous publications (Moana, Zootopia, and Frozen II), Raya and the last dragon is something to get upset about. From its adventurous story to detailed animation to potential language talent, this particular film is sure to make a splash at the House of Mouse.
# 5 – Eternal
Release date: November 5thth2021
Pendant: N / A
Similar to Black widowThis particular Marvel superhero movie has been postponed from the 2020 theatrical release for a new scheduled date in 2021. The official summary is thin, but says … in a 7,000 year history, the Eternals, an immortal alien race created by the Celestials, protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the deviants. Featuring a new line of Marvel characters, a diverse cast (e.g., Kit Harrington, Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kumail Nanjiani), and a new narrative from the already established world The Eternals evolves into an exciting new adventure in the MCU’s Phase IV saga. I’ve never heard the Eternal comics before, but I may have to pick up a or two before I see the movie.
# 4 – black widow
Release date: May 7thth2021
Pendant: Official final trailer of the Black Widow
Originally slated for a 2020 release, Black Widow has been delayed several times and its newest date is set for May 2021 release. After the epic and dramatic conclusion of its Phase III saga, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is preparing for its Phase IV episode with the film Black widow First up to date. In truth, it will be interesting to see how this film is received. Takes place after the events of Captain America: Civil warThe film will focus on the character of Natasha Romanov. Exploring her past and a more central focus on her character. With the character already established in this cinematic superhero world (as a supporting actress), I’m very interested to see how the Romanov / Black Widow character gets her own superhero movie. With actress Scarlett Johannsson repeating her role as the title character, the film’s supporting cast (i.e. David Harbor, Rachel Weisz, Florence Pugh, etc) and a fascinating narrative about uncovering the past Black widow will surely make for a notable superhero in 2021.
# 4 – Untitled Spider-Man 3
Release date: December 17thth2021
Pendant: N / A
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man was a celebratory cheer of comic book excitement, and his involvement with the MCU speaks volumes with fans and moviegoers everywhere. After the negotiations between Disney and Sony were broken off and then redone, this third solo episode promises a lot and definitely keeps the hype going every month. Very little of the story / plot of the film has been revealed, but that doesn’t mean the film hasn’t been spoken to or eagerly awaited in months. As the? Well, with plenty of acting talents from previous Spider-Man cinematic reruns including Toby Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Kristen Dunst, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina returning to repeat their roles. Will this be a live-action version of Spider-Verse Multiverse? How does it all fit into the MCU? Will this lead to Sony’s solo brand Spider-Man Universe? Who knows … but I’m really excited to see what happens in the film!
# 3 – Top Gun: Outsider
Release date: 2nd Julynd2021
Pendant: Top Gun: Maverick Official Trailer # 2
Originally it should be released in 2020. Top Gun: Outsider was another movie pushed into this year, which is why it’s back on this list and in the same number position. Lately (or rather, for the past decade) Hollywood has taken an interest in revisiting older movie properties. produce a variety of belated sequels to the original; The attempt to “ignite” nostalgia by visiting an old confidante again. It’s been almost 34 years since the original 1986 film hit the big screen and Top Gun: Maverick seems to see a new generation of potential hot aces return to the skies to prove their worth. Of course, actor Tom Cruise (who is certainly a good old age between the two films) returns as veteran pilot Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell as flight instructor for the new recruits, which consist of callsign names from Hangman, Phoenix, Payback, Fanboy and Rooster ( the son of Maverick’s old friend / RIO). With a solid cast (Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell and Ed Harris) and new innovative filmmaking ways to narrate the aerial cinema aerial footage, Top Gun: Outsider aims at the sky and is ready to give the go-ahead for a “Sonic Boom” in summer 2021.
# 2 – No time to die
Release date: 2nd of Aprilnd2021
Pendant: No Time To Die Official Trailer 2
Originally it should be released in 2020. No time to die was another movie pushed into this year, which is why it’s back on this list and in the same number position. The James Bond name was certainly the stuff of the movie legend and has certainly been a proven (and lucrative) franchise over the years. The Daniel Craig Bond films were up and down Casino royale and Skyfall the heights be while Quantum of comfort and spook were the lows. 2021 will be the fifth and final entry in the Daniel Craig James Bond films with the release of No time to die. Judging by the trailer, the movie definitely looks good as it showcases a lot of favorite old spy nuances and the returning supporting cast. I am always sure that I love a good James Bond feature. Plus … Seeing actor Rami Malek as the movie’s classic “Bond villain” in the film is definitely going to be a pleasure. What needs to be discovered and how the film will ultimately play out remains a mystery. howeverNo time to die is geared towards being a “final bow” for Craig’s “Diamond in the Rough” iteration of James Bond, and I’m definitely excited to see it …
# 1 – dune
Release date: October 1st2021
Pendant: Dune Official Trailer
One day … the legend will be born! Frank Herbert’s Dune series has become an instant and classic staple in science fiction literature. is one of the largest of the genre (as well as Tolkien’s works in the fantasy genre).
Originally slated for release in 2020 and based on Herbert’s 1965 novel, the film is set in the distant future amid a feudal interstellar society in which various noble houses control planetary fiefs. dune tells the story of the young Paul Atreides, whose family accepts the administration of the planet Arrakis. While the planet is an inhospitable and sparsely populated desert, it is the only source of melange, or “the spice,” a drug that lengthens life and improves mental abilities. Melange is also required for space travel, which requires some kind of multi-dimensional awareness and foresight that only the drug can provide. Since melange can only be made on Arrakis, controlling the planet is a desirable and dangerous endeavor. The story explores the complex interactions of politics, religion, ecology, technology, and human emotions as the factions of the Empire face each other in a battle for control of Arrakis and its flavoring.
Various adjustments have already been made in the past, including the 1984 film and its 2000 TV miniseries (and its 2003 sequel). However, a project like this will be ripped for a later customization with the 2020 release dune. At the top is the visionary director Denis Villeneuve, the creative mastermind behind it Arrivals, Sicario, and Blade Runner 2049This certainly leaves a strong impression that the film is in the right hands and has an impressive cast including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, Momoa and Javier Bardem.
With a solid foundation of source material for dueling households, rebellious free people, and a prophesied hero who could unite or destroy them all, a visionary director, a (literally dream coach), Dune will be a highly anticipated film project . One thing is certain…. The spice has to flow and therefore dune is my most anticipated film of 2021.
Yeah, I know there are some other 2021 movies that I’m looking forward to (Halloween Kills, Mission: Impossible 7, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Uncharted, King’s Man, etc.), but then this list would be far too long. So what do you guys think? Which films are you personally looking forward to in 2021? Let me know….
