I published a new one As part of Piece at The dropout this evening. Because the new season of Cobra Kai When I got on Netflix last week I thought it was worth taking a look at the show’s relationship with Netflix.
Cobra Kai is just the latest in a number of shows that have been around “Saved” through the streaming service, where previous seasons at other providers were just fighting to get Netflix to find an audience and even take the bill; Arrested development, she, Lucifer and so on. However, things are changing. As companies like YouTube pull out of the streaming wars and companies like NBC begin consolidating their broadcast and streaming wings, both fewer of these gems will be produced and less space for Netflix to deliver those that are produced to a larger audience to make accessible.
