The top Iranian leader warned former President Trump and swore “revenge” for the assassination of Colonel General Qassem Soleimani.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s tweet on Thursday shows Trump’s resemblance on the golf course targeted by a drone flying overhead.
“Vengeance is inevitable,” says the Farsi-translated tweet.
The post comes a little over a year after Soleimani, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force, was killed in a US air strike ordered by the Trump administration.
Khamenei’s tweet contained the same remarks he made in a December 16 post: “Those who ordered the murder of General Soleimani, as well as those who carried it out, should be punished. This vengeance will surely come at the right time. “
Earlier this month, Twitter blocked a tweet from Khamenei that cast doubts about the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines and described vaccines made in the US and UK as “absolutely untrustworthy.”
