Episode 171 contains an interview with Priscilla Costello about her book Shakespeare and the Starswho examines the use of astrology in the plays of William Shakespeare.
Priscilla was an English literature teacher and practicing astrologer for over 30 years. In the book, she uses her background in both areas to bring a new perspective on the role of astrology in Shakespeare’s writings.
She argues that astrological symbolism was deliberately used in some pieces to thematically inspire certain characters and storylines, and that some pieces were tailored to specific planets or signs of the zodiac.
