I published a new one As part of Piece at The dropout this evening. I checked it out for no reason other than seeing it this week Jurassic Park and how it feels strangely prophetic.
Jurassic Park is much: a warning story about the rampage in science, about the hubris of humanity, about fathers. Seen decades later, however, it’s a cautionary story about the type of film it is. Jurassic Park is one of the best blockbusters of all time, but it was also a game changer. It seemed to usher in a revolution in computer generated imagery that fundamentally changed the blockbuster landscape. With that in mind, the film’s concerns about the unforeseen consequences of this type of innovation and the revival of the past have aged very well.
