Atlanta Falcons Defensive Tackle Grady Jarrett and the NFL gather to support a young Falcons fan who lost three family members in a house fire last week.
Jarrett surprised 12-year-old Taeden Johnson on a Zoom call with two Super Bowl tickets in Tampa, Florida on Sunday. It will be the first NFL game for Johnson to also receive an encouraging talk from Jarrett on hard work, good grades, and believing in yourself to help make his dream of a day in the NFL come true.
Johnson escaped the fire at his family’s mobile home in Athens, Georgia on Jan. 27 and ran to a neighbor’s home to call 911. According to WSB-TV 2 in Atlanta, Johnson tried to return to the mobile home to save his family.Members other than Johnson’s mother, grandmother and little sister died in the fire.
The Falcons provide transportation and hotel accommodation to Johnson and one guest, while the NFL provides the tickets.
The Hawks said Johnson’s mentor, Zac Hendrix, created a GoFundMe page that has raised more than $ 200,000.
