Considerations for the United Astrology Conference 2018

In episode 160 of the show, astrologers Kelly Surtees, Austin Coppock and Spencer Michaud talk to me about our experiences at the recent United Astrology Conference, which took place in Chicago from May 23-30, 2018.

As the discussion progresses, we talk about some of the lectures we gave, lectures, people we met, notable events that took place, and just generally reflect our impressions of the entire event.

Here are some of the show notes, with a few points, that we addressed in this episode:

• Stayed at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile
• The dates were essentially May 23-30, 2018, including pre- and post-events.
• About 1,400 or 1,500 astrologers were present at the end.
• Much higher percentage of new or first-time conference attendees than usual.
• Podcast event was a success.
• Chris did a couple of video interviews.
• UAC bookstore was huge.
• Regulus Awards took place on the night of Sunday 27th
  • All organizations award service awards and then community-wide service categories:
    • Our own Leisa Schaim won the AFAN Service Award.
  • The Regulus Prize winners were:
  • Richard Smoot received the Community Service Award
  • David Cochrane – Discovery, Innovation and Research
  • Steven Forrest – Education
  • Tem Tarriktar – Professional image
  • Deborah Houlding – Theory and Understanding
  • Michael Erlewine – Lifetime Achievement Award
• Astrologer memorial during the graduation ceremony.
