Arrow Video is pleased to announce the launch of its new subscription-based ARROW platform in March 2021, which is now available to UK subscribers in the US and Canada.
The March cast is blooming with the release of Jill Gevargizian’s debut feature The Stylist on March 1st. Based on Gevargizian’s award-winning short film of the same name, The Stylist unites Gevargizian with the short film’s lead actor, Najarra Townsend (Contracted, Wolf Mother). Townsend plays Claire, a lonely hairdresser obsessed with her clients … at her own risk. Brea Grant (After Midnight, director of 12 Hour Shift) joins as Olivia, an unsuspecting bride who makes the fatal mistake of hiring Claire for her big day. The stylist broadcasts exclusively on ARROW in the US, Canada and the UK.
ARROW Stories will feature a number of exclusive extras for The Stylist, including the original award-winning short, an introduction to the Gevargizian film, behind-the-scenes features, and more to give fans a glimpse into how the acclaimed thriller was made.
In March the ARROW sheet with collected short films by the filmmakers Jim Cummings and Brian Lonano will also be shown. The Brian Lonano Collection, Volume 1, is out March 1st and features five short films that showcase Lonano’s bizarre aesthetics and DIY effects: Crow Hand !!!, Gwilliam, BFF Girls, Gwilliam’s Tips On How To Turn Tricks Into Treats, and the exclusive premiere of The Devil’s Asshole. Jim Cummings, fresh from the release of The Wolf of Snow Hollow, is wowing audiences with his early March 15th shorts: The Minutes, including Parent Teacher, Cory Comes to Xmas, The Stop, Marty Hearts Katie, and Sundance-nominated The Robbery. Native Stand Up and the short film Us Funny.
ARROW’s curated seasons kicks off March 1 with Traffic Was Murder, a collection of automobile wrecks that kickstart the month with Whiskey Mountain, Burst City, Pit Stop, Hitchhike to Hell, and more for a month-long celebration of one of exploitation cinema’s biggest female stars the movies Stray Cat Rock and Female Prisoner Scorpion and more.
Japan’s Tributes to the classic character of H. G. Wells will also be released on March 1: The Invisible Man Appears (1949) and The Invisible Man Vs. the Human Fly (1957).
March 8th begins with Caught on Tape, films in which a photo or a surveillance camera leads to nightmares: The El Duce Tapes, the Ringu series, Videoman and Ivansxtc.
The Makeup Effects Masterclass begins March 12, a collection that highlights the most beautiful and gruesome practical effects including Bride of Re-Animator, Doom Asylum, and Inferno of Torture.
March closes the month with the release of Marina Sargentis Mirror, Mirror with Karen Black and Yvonne De Carlo on March 19 and March 22 with The Flower of Evil, Mata Hari H21, the animated Gulliver’s Travels of 1939 and Madame Bovary, the Golden Globe nominated the adaptation of Gustave Flaubert’s seminal novel with Isabelle Huppert as the wife of the doomed doctor.
