Film Algarve and Antigravity Portugal, in collaboration with Film Aim (Spain) and Gázól Filmes, proudly presents LOCKED LOVE, a new film that will be produced 100% in Sagres this winter with local crew and talent from the Algarve.
The setting for the story takes place in a small, remote village at the end of the world, Sagres, where a tourist, Michelle, discovers that her boyfriend couldn’t reach her because his fly was canceled due to the lockdown and she has to spend money on her vacation alone, but fate will play with their future in unexpected ways.
Among the cast we see Vianca Meyer, a South African living in the Algarve, who is on screen for the first time, and Marcus Andre, who is known in Portugal in television series such as “Na Corda Bamba”. The inclusion of each character’s behavior makes this film unique and brings with it a vibrant and interesting love story that gets out of hand.
Lou Di Giorgio, Telmo Antunes co-producer and LOCKED LOVE director, says: “I wrote the script and thought about how people can have a relationship during the Covid19 era, especially during lockdowns. I wanted to bring the whole spectrum of emotions into the film, from passion to friendship, from a lack of freedom to the sadness of a tragic moment that we all experience today.
Lou Di Giorgio is known as the producer of “El Clan” by the Spanish film director Jaime Falero.
Film Algarve and Antigravity Portugal agree that LOCKED LOVE is a tantalizing story that will entice you. The characters offer a unique perspective on love, drama, romance, infatuation, and grief. The film was shot in the beautiful and usually sunny village of Sagres in Portugal’s western Algarve and is set at the luxury Martinhal Resort as well as other Sagres establishments such as the Pousada, the Pontalaia apartments, the Cabo São Vicente lighthouse and the Armazém restaurant.
Producer and director Lou Di Giorgio imagined that the film should find a place in this hidden gem of Europe. The Algarve in Portugal came to mind with its beautiful beaches, romantic landscape, sunny weather and beautiful color palette. It’s perfect for honeymooners and tourists looking to explore breathtaking destinations, and therefore perfect for LOCKED LOVE expectations.
While the film is now being submitted and accepted by several prestigious film festivals around the world, the private premiere of LOCKED LOVE will take place on April 10th at 9:00 pm near Lagos, Portugal. For more information and to attend the event please visit CLICK HERE.
