March Madness was a tale of upset in 2021. We’re on the second day of the round of 32 and it’s everyone’s guess who’s going to fall today.
On Sunday, the Loyola Chicago and Oral Roberts Cinderella stories continued. The 8-Seed Ramblers defeated Illinois in a 71-58 victory that saw Sister Jean praying the Illinois should shoot less than 30 percent from the three-point line.

Oral Roberts started the tournament with 15 seeds, throwing the state of Ohio off balance, and on Sunday they celebrated an 81-78 win over Florida by 7 seeds. Oral Roberts has won his games by a total of six points and faces Arkansas with three seeds in his first Sweet 16 since 1974.
These weren’t the only problems that came up on Sunday. Syracuse with 11 seeds looked like some of Jim Boeheim’s best when it came to beating West Virginia with 3 seeds, and Oregon State with 12 seeds, who had already defeated an orange team in Tennessee with 5 seeds, did so again Oklahoma State with 4 seeds.
Goodbye to Drew Timmes mustache?
1-Seed Gonzaga had an outstanding performance from sophomore striker Drew Timme in her win over 8-Seed Oklahoma. Timme lost 30 points, pulled 13 rebounds down and added four assists. After the game, he was told that his mom said he would have to shave his mustache if the Bulldogs won – which it turned out was new to him.
“This is news for me.” 😅😂

Luka Garza’s emotional farewell
2-Seed Iowa was knocked out by 7-Seed Oregon on Monday, but it wasn’t due to a lack of effort on the part of Luka Garza. The Hawkeyes Center scored 36 of their team’s 80 points, adding nine rebounds. After the game, the senior reflected on his last game as a representative of Iowa in an emotional press conference.
Iowa senior Luka Garza turns emotional when he is last eliminated from the game as Hawkeye.
One thing more impressive about Garza’s line? Oregon made him deserve these points – they denied 16 of his 20 shots.
