Finding Doctor X – Web Series

Finding Doctor X is an award-winning vlogging mockumentary web series created by Danish independent filmmaker Martin Sommerdag. Graduated from Filmtrain Film School and Short & Documentary Film School in Denmark. He has created critically acclaimed filmography such as the tragic-comic documentary portrait “Dead Man Singing”, “The Orange Tune”, “Tunguska Diaries” and the eight millimeter horror sequence “Ebola Warning”. Despite a zero budget, Finding Doctor X has done very well on the festival circuit and has already received a number of awards.

VLOG.1 The classified research material

This is my first video log. I’m trying to find my father – he mysteriously disappeared in 1997. I got access to his secret safe at home and discovered his classified research in microbiology along with some scientific artifacts. I’ve decided to publish some of his research – hoping for answers to his disappearance. I’ve digitized a piece of 8-millimeter classified research that reveals a secret biological experiment on an unknown person.

VLOG.2 project Octopada

I received a message from an unknown Danish scientist who claims he has knowledge of my father’s secret work and his mysterious disappearance in 1997. We met in a deserted location and I documented it on my iPhone. I’ve cut out parts of the encounter – the man was blurry, talking in a circle about strange clinical trials involving cephalopods and human intelligence – called Project Octopada.

VLOG.3 The secrets of the flash drive

I looked at the flash drive I got from the strange Danish scientist I met some time ago. It contained a text file and a worn standard definition video clip of a clinical trial. The flash drive brought me to Germany, somewhere in the Ruhr area.

VLOG.4 The mysterious man in the dark

I received another strange text message from the unknown Danish scientist who had also contacted me in the past and claimed to have knowledge of my father’s secret work. This time the mysterious man wanted to meet me on some railroad tracks under a gloomy bridge outside the city.

I received a worn out VHS-C tape from him. I have digitized the bizarre film material on the VHS-C tape and filed it at the end of this video log 4. While I was documenting the encounter on my iPhone, something inexplicable happened to the mysterious man.

VLOG. 5 The psychic serum

I am getting closer to the truth about my father’s classified research. I discovered an experimental psychological serum in a strange little glass flask hidden in my father’s old safe. I’m going on a trip to the woods to test the serum on myself. But I’m not alone in the forest, I have the strange feeling that I’m being watched.

The piston is identical to the piston from the bizarre video tape that the mysterious man gave me in video log 4. The videotape documents a person who develops psychokinesis after consuming the unknown liquid from a strange little glass flask – I noticed that The little bottle from my father’s safe contains the same psychological serum.
