The devil makes them due when Walt Disney Studios releases the second official trailer for their upcoming movie Cruella. Watch the trailer below.
Set in London in the 1970s in the midst of the punk rock revolution, Cruella follows a young Grifter named Estella, a smart and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends two young thieves who appreciate their appetite for mischief and together they can build a life for themselves on the streets of London. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion falls on the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend that is devastatingly chic and terribly high. But their relationship sets off a series of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her evil side and become the rough, fashionable, and vengeful Cruella.
A new trailer … pretty interesting. I wasn’t really expecting a new trailer for this movie, but I definitely applaud it. This new preview of Disney’s upcoming film looks pretty interesting and a little different from the company’s previous live-action remakes. It’s more of a prequel, to focus on the main Villian (i.e., her descent into madness and villainy) than Maleficent, who portrays an “another side, another story” type of mood. This new trailer features a lot of new footage, including Emma Thompson’s character, the Baroness von Hellman, who appears to be the movie’s main antagonist. I also have to admit that the costumes in the film look very good and elaborate. Even so, I can’t shake the simple fact that this movie looks like a 2019 Disney version joker. Regardless of that, I’m curious to see how this film will develop and how it will be received by moviegoers everywhere.
Cruella arrives in both theaters and Disney + on May 28, 2021
