A deliciously entertaining and blood-splattered romp, Jacob’s wife is a creative, unique vampire story in which a pastor’s wife transforms into a creature of the night, leaving corpses behind, but also introducing new passion into her stale marriage.
By director Travis Stevens, Jacob’s wife carries its presumably low budget with pride, yet delivers a fully realized and confident experience. With some great gore, but also a surprisingly warm and lovable story and characters, it’s a movie that is easy to like. Barbara Crampton (You’re next, re-animator) is a great protagonist, a woman who wakes up one day and knows what she really wants and needs in life (or something other than Life) and it goes on.
You should try too.
