The Hustlers Star’s love life was really epic. At various points in her career, J. Lo fell deeply in love, became a mother, and was for a moment half of one of the greatest couples in Hollywood. But on March 12th Page Six reported that J.Lo and Alex Rodriguez broke off their engagement and ended their relationship. As the world pulls away from that heartbreak, take a look back at J. Lo when she was just “Jenny From The Block” to this day!
Ojani Noa was the first husband of J. Lo. The former couple married in February 1997 after meeting at Gloria EstefanRestaurant where Ojani was a waiter. This was at a time when Jennifer’s star was beginning to rise in Hollywood. The same year she married Ojani, Jennifer starred Selena, the Latinx singer’s feature film biopic Selena Quintanilla-PérezThe living. J. Lo received a Golden Globe nomination for her work in the film, but as her career skyrocketed, her marriage suffered. Ojani and J. Lo were divorced in 1998.
Sean “Diddy” Combs
After her marriage to Ojani, J. Lo began her first high-profile relationship with the music producer Sean “Diddy” Combs. The couple dated the late 90s but ran into legal trouble when both were arrested for criminal possession of a gun after a nightclub shootout! While J. Lo was eventually exonerated for having no influence or involvement in the crime, Diddy was indicted and charged by a grand jury in Manhattan. As a result, J. Lo made the decision to break away from her relationship with the music mogul.
After breaking up with Diddy, J. Lo began her romance with the former backup dancer Cris Judd. The two were instantly hooked and after a whirlwind love affair, they were stopped in September 2001. Unfortunately, this romance didn’t last long. The couple divorced by June 2002 – less than a year since they were married! However, during their marriage they made public appearances a few times, as in the picture above while attending the Academy Awards in March 2002.
This next romance was going to become one of J. Lo’s most famous connections! After her second divorce, the singer and actress began a relationship with the Oscar winner Ben Affleck. The two have earned a couple name – coined by the press “Beniffer”. Within less than a year of dating, Jennifer and Ben became engaged in November 2002. The couple starred in a number of films, including Gigli and Jersey girls. In September 2003, the couple announced that they would postpone their wedding just a day before the ceremony. By January 2004, the two officially resigned.
Jennifer’s breakup with Ben was the hardest to overcome, as she described the breakup as her “first real heartbreak” in her 2014 book True love. Since then, however, the two have apparently been on friendly terms. Ben even sang J. Lo’s praises after seeing her in 2019 Hustlersand said that his earlier flame was “fantastic”.
In an attempt to overcome her broken heart after she and Ben broke up, J. Lo married a longtime friend and fellow singer. Marc Anthony. Less than two years after their marriage, J. Lo became the mother of the couple’s twins Emme Maribel Muñiz and Maximilian David Muñiz, now 12 years old. Marc and J. Lo apparently had an incredible relationship.
The couple often performed together on stage and devoted themselves entirely to raising their children. Unfortunately, the couple announced their separation in July 2011 and the divorce was finalized in June 2014. While J. Lo maintains primary custody of the two children, she and Marc have been seen supporting their little ones at school events and more!
When J. Lo was back on the market, she began a relationship with the backup dancer Casper Smart. Between 2011 and 2016, Casper and J. Lo went through the ups and downs to maintain their romance or to part ways. When the two officially quit in 2016, it seemed like the singer from “On The Floor” was comfortable with the rapper drake! In 2016, the two shared the exact same flirty photo on their respective Instagram accounts, with no caption. They never confirmed their romance, but J. Lo has said a shady thing or two about the rapper over the past few years.
After so much heartbreak, J. Lo finally seemed happy with a new man! In February 2017, J. Lo started dating the former Yankees player Alex Rodriguez, and the two quickly became one of the hottest couples in Hollywood. The couple absolutely loved it. For his part, Alex had been incredibly supportive of his beloved by attending premieres, cheering on J. Lo at her concerts, and looking so proud of her on many occasions!
Their love party culminated in March 2019 when Alex asked the question and asked the singer to marry him – and J. Lo said yes! The couple had plans to get married in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic put their wedding on hold. Even so, J-Rod seemed happy and they kept themselves busy enjoying their time with their children, including Alex’s daughters, during the lockdown months Natasha Alexander Rodriguez, 15 and Ella Alexander Rodriguez12th
Unfortunately there was a sad end to this fairytale romance. In March 2021, J. Lo and A-Rod said they had quit, but then quickly issued a statement insisting they work on their relationship. A few weeks later, on April 15, the two officially ended their engagement. “We have recognized that we are better as friends and we look forward to staying that way. We will continue to work together and support each other in our joint businesses and projects. We wish each other and each other’s children all the best. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have is a thank you to everyone who sent kind words and support, ”the statement reads People Magazine.
