For most of his NFL career, Lamar Jackson has made people pay for not being a quarterback.
But on Wednesday, Jackson actually paid a lucky passer-by $ 100 after the man thought Jackson was a broad receiver and then an offensive lineman.
In the exchange Jackson shared on Instagram, the Baltimore Ravens quarterback playfully offered the man money if he could spot the 2019 NFL MVP.
“I know you play soccer,” said the man.
When the man suspected a broad recipient, Jackson replied, “You couldn’t get that $ 100.”
The man later suggested the 212-pound Jackson might be an offensive lineman.
As a good sport, Jackson gave the man a $ 100 bill and hugged him.
Moments later the man ran back and exclaimed, “Lamar Jackson!”
“Yes, I am,” said Jackson matter-of-factly.
After the video was shared on social media, Jackson jokingly said, “If he had said RB, I would have kept my $ 100.”
Jackson has become one of the most popular players in the NFL. He was ranked 3rd on the NFL Players Association player’s list of licensed merchandise sales at the end of the year, followed by Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes.
