When she yelled back in a stolen car in the fictional metropolitan Genoa city of The Young and the Restless almost three years ago, Summer Newman returned determined to take over the world and break a few hearts in her mission to prove she was Little girl was no longer Papas, but a force of nature – like the Newman and Summers blood that runs through her veins. In the past few years, Summer has married, divorced, and then reconciled with the love of her life, made amends with her mother after sleeping with her boyfriend, and progressed professionally after being promoted to head of the Jabot collective had been. Summer Newman’s portraitist and two-time Emmy-winner Hunter King accepts the ups and downs of summer. She took the time to answer some burning questions her fans have been asking on social media.
“The summer has matured very much. She has quite a bit of life experience now, ”said the 27-year-old star. “She’s heartbroken and heartbroken and made a name for herself. Professionally, she’s definitely matured and more grounded.”
Though King can’t remember exactly whether she was ever told the reasons why Summer had such a chip on her shoulder and set out to destroy Phyllis’ relationship with Billy when she returned (“One day in Genoa So much happens, leave us alone for a few years, ”she remarks that the loving, if sometimes emotionally volatile dynamic between Phyllis and Summer is interesting for her because they are so similar. “Summer – like a lot of other kids – doesn’t necessarily want to admit that they’re just like their parents. There’s a lot of Phyllis that Summer sees in herself, and maybe she didn’t like that, so she was a scared one at the time young adults who brought it out for their mother for reasons that don’t always make much sense. ”She brings it to her similaires and muses that Phyllis saw these similaires in summer and wanted to steer summer in a different direction than those which she took, and Summer didn’t appreciate it. “Summer wanted to make mistakes herself without knowing what to do.”
King laughed as he asked another of those unsolved puzzles from The Young and the Restless: Why do Summer and Kyle live at the Grand Phoenix when Summer had a cute apartment before they left, and even after they returned to Genoa? “These are the questions Michael (Mealor, Kyle Abbott) and I ask ourselves all the time. I think everyone lives in the hotel. “A reason has never been given why the apartment set hasn’t been seen since the days Nick and Phyllis were in Sommer’s kitchen on the island, but King likes to think so, since Phyllis took over the apartment when Summer left, In her. In my opinion, Phyllis sold it, Summer put the money into savings and just lives hotel life in the Grand Phoenix.
Talk of real estate turned to the dream home Summer and Kyle built on the land Nick had given them after Skyle’s brief marriage (remember the lot he and Chelsea would build a house on during their failed engagement? ). When asked if we’d ever see the often discussed but never shown cabinets, she admitted that she was often wondering the same thing. Much like Skyle fans, she’s eagerly awaiting the day the house is shown and wants these cabinets to be the only set. “Just one master closet and that’s all we see: just Summer and Kyle’s closet and all of their scenes in the house go down there. This is like the ultimate Barbie dream house – that’s just a vision in our heads – we can see it.” Or maybe not, but just like you I want to know that there is a chandelier in the closet, cheetah rugs, shoe walls (them) The hands start to move, showing how massive these walls must be – the whole thing for summer. ”
A random comment from me about how the only sets needed for the newly engaged couple are the Dream Home and the GCAC (“I miss the GCAC!”) Since I have Kyle and Summer on the rooftop near the pool get married and chat turned to her ideal location for a Skyle wedding. She mentions that they were already married in the GCAC lobby (remember the pre-Livergate wedding?). “Then Kyle and Lola got married in Chancellor Park at the most beautiful wedding, so I can’t say there. If they know her, they’ll probably only get married at the Grand Phoenix or Society and it’ll be super weird.”
Of course, with The Young and the Restless being filmed in Los Angeles, my first thought was that they should either escape or have a wedding on the beach so we could do a location shoot and have guests at the wedding since it’s outside. King laughed and said she would turn it up, “Beach wedding, here we come!” Since we were already dealing with weddings (and honeymoons!), It only felt right to ask about possible physical intimacy and / or a possible upcoming love scene. We saw Devon and Amanda (Bryton James and Mishael Morgan) kiss on screen, and Billy and Lilly (Jason Thompson and Christel Khalil) engage in YR’s first on-screen love scene since Covid restrictions were put in place. So it seemed natural to wonder if Kyle and Summer could be on the next round of couples to get physical. “Just wait,” Hunter sang, and she began to understand the wording of my next question: Are we going to see Summer and Kyle practice baby-making?
“I always feel so bad for Michael because he always takes off his shirt and I always find excuses [not to] like “Oh the buttons are too hard” or “Oh, I can’t get out of this dress fast enough” so they say, “Okay, good. Just Michael,” and he says, “Really? Just me?” So the poor guy always has to take off his shirt, but I do it for the fans. I do it for you. ”
Speaking of having babies, King had strong feelings about a possible Abbott Newman baby when asked if she would ever put on the pregnancy bump that Camryn Grimes will soon be rocking because of her pregnant nature. “I’m so crazy because I’ve been telling the writers for 9 years,” I want Summer to be pregnant because I just want to carry that pregnant belly, “and it hasn’t happened to me. The clock is ticking. I’m waiting. I think you have to text or tweet a few times if you want Summer to get pregnant, because apparently that’s the only way it’s going to happen. ”
The definitive threat looming on the horizon for Kyle is definitely the vengeful Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi). He’s already targeted Jabot. Will he attack Kyle’s personal life too and come to summer? “The fans definitely have to keep watching to see what happens between the four. As time goes on, things get more and more interesting. Just when you think, “Okay, that’s what we know,” something else happens. “King is definitely hoping for more scenes between Ashland and Summer.” I find the dynamics interesting and he (Burgi) contributes so much to the show. He created such a great character (in Locke). “King loves working with Burgi and says he’s great at scenes. “He’s very good at being bad.”
On screen, viewers watch Kyle worry about what will happen to his son Harrison if the truth of his affair with Tara ever emerges. So King was asked how Summer really feels when Kyle has a son. “It’s hard because sometimes I think,” Damn it, summer. You have to have a feel for it! “I think Summer loves Kyle unconditionally and accepts him for who he is. If that means Kyle has a kid then Summer accepts that and will roll with the punches, but I think it definitely goes back to the uncertainty of what it means for Kyle and that woman from his past to be kid now share and whether this will affect their future in any way. ”
When asked about children, King thought, like the rest of us, if Kyle ever had children, he would be his first at Summer. “If Summer had ever had a baby, the father would always be Kyle. Apart from the short stay with Luca, during which I thought: “Will this be the right time?”, But it wasn’t. I’m still holding on, but Kyle will have a baby before Summer has a baby? What about it? ”It just means that Kyle was out there and being an Abbott like his father and“ sowing his seed spots ”.
