Paul McCartney’s and Rick Rubin’s documentary series exploring the music history of the former Beatles landed in Hulu.
Six part series McCartney 3.2.1 will launch on July 16th on the Streamer. First, word was spread that McCartney and Rubin were collaborating on a series of documents in December.
On the series, McCartney sits down for a rare one-on-one interview with music producer Rubin to discuss his groundbreaking work with the Beatles, 1970s arena rock from Wings, and his more than 50 years as a solo artist. The intimate conversation will explore the songwriting, influences and personal relationships that shaped the legendary songs.
Since writing his first song at the age of 14, McCartney has received 18 Grammys and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1997 for his services to music. His last album, McCartney IIIwas number 1 on the UK official charts and number 1 on the US Billboard Top Album Sales Charts when it was released in December 2020.
Rubin continues to co-produce and host the podcast series Broken record with Malcolm Gladwell. He recently produced the Grammy Award winning record The new abnormal with the blows.
The series is executive produced by McCartney, Rubin, Scott Rodger, Peter Berg, Matthew Goldberg, Brandon Carroll, Jeff Pollack, Frank Marshall and Ryan Suffern as executive producers, with Leila Mattimore as co-executive producer. McCartney 3.2.1 The director is Zachary Heinzerling, who won the Emmy Prize.
Endeavor Content acts as a studio and produces alongside MPL Communications Inc., Shangri-La, Film 45, Kennedy Marshall and Diamond Docs.
