BOSTON (CBS) – The first heat wave of 2021 became official on Monday afternoon, but we’re not done yet!
Tuesday offers another round of the ’90s from Boston to Worcester and most of northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.
Temperatures peaked on Monday, but Tuesday may end up feeling warmer. It reached 90 at 11 o’clock, but the combination of too high temperature and humidity will make it feel between 95 and 100 degrees. For most of the region, there is a heat warning from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Tuesday also comes with a rumble of thunder. Although heavy weather is not expected from these storms, they will move very slowly, allowing for some rainfall. The main threat will be local flooding between 2pm and 8pm.
The heat wave ends on Wednesday with temperatures below 90 degrees. But it gets pretty steamy as the dew points stay high. At the end of the week, the conditions are cooler.
