I have published a new column at The dropout yesterday. I watched the first two episodes of Loki.
Loki appears as the third and final of the first wave of live action shows from the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney +. The opening sequence suggests that she is burdened with “Wonderful purpose”, which shows one of the breakout characters of the film universe while introducing the Time Variance Authority into cinematic continuity. The result is an interesting mix, something with a lot of potential that also feels strangely reserved and in places too familiar. Still, there’s a lot to like on the show.
