BOSTON (CBS) – Do you remember the heat wave at the beginning of June? It really set the stage for what the rest of June became. So it should come as no surprise that another 90s, including our next heat wave, is forecast towards the end of the month.
A subtropical high known as the Bermuda High will be anchored over the Atlantic for the next 7-10 days. The flow around the high pressure will introduce the heat and moisture.

Saturday will be warm and humid, but nothing like what’s to come. The mid-80s with more clouds than sun can actually be a bit of a relief from the eventual heat. Sunday will be the first day of the heat wave, with the worst likely Monday and Tuesday. Highs will rise into the mid-1990s and along with sticky tropical dew points, heat indices will approach three digits. The heat will last through Wednesday and Thursday, with some models suggesting the heat will extend into Friday.
At the moment there are 8 days with 90 ° + days for Boston for the season. This is well above our previous average of 2 days. Of course we will be increasing the total number this season by July in a large scale.
