E! News reached out to Jamie’s lawyer, Vivian Lee Thoreen, For a comment and has not received any feedback. In court, Vivian told the judge that Jamie will not resign. She said Britney’s testimony contained some “false information” that should be investigated.
Last month, Jamie filed a motion for the court to investigate the allegations his daughter made during her testimony on June 23. He said he was “concerned about the administration and care of his daughter” as he has not been overseeing her personal or medical affairs since 2019. Jodi Montgomery became her person’s provisional conservator.
On Wednesday, the judge extended Jodi’s role to October 2021, and Britney said if she can’t finish the conservatories, she’d want Jodi to stay on board while her father is removed. Jodi’s attorney said she was looking forward to working with Britney after saying in a July 6 statement that her client “is still determined to support the Grammy winner.”
As Vivian announced last month, “Mr. Spears is sorry that his daughter is suffering and in so much pain.” The attorney’s statement went on to say, “Mr. Spears loves his daughter and misses her very much.”
Britain’s next hearing is on September 29th.
