We spent most of our day at work and ideally we want to feel comfortable there. Unfortunately, many of us feel stressed at work and always have some worries in the back of our minds. Below are the most common workplace worries and how we can overcome them.
- Get fired: Everyone is afraid of getting fired at some point in their life. Whether the economy is bad or your company has been taken over by a larger company, HR can call anyone and find out for themselves. The best way to deal with this fear is to talk to your manager about it. If you really trust your manager, you can talk to them about your fear of being fired or ask them about your performance to get an idea of your position in the workplace. But even if we do a good job, there can sometimes be mass layoffs in the company due to restructuring or downsizing. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do in this situation.
- The following are overlooked for a deserved promotion: If you really think you deserve a promotion and someone in the workplace tried to stab you in the back, then, as Bob Marley says in his song, “Get up, stand up for your rights!” Should be the best way to go To seek your right in this situation is to build relationships with other people. If you have others by your side, they can also help you stand up for your rights.
- Unable to handle the workload: In some workplaces there may be many days when you have to work overtime. For example; The high season prevails in accounting and auditing firms when everyone works late into the night or even on weekends. If you can’t handle this workload, try reorganizing your tasks and activities first to see if you can get some of them done faster, or at least try to get the important ones done first. However, if you are having trouble organizing your workload, you may want to try discussing it with your manager.
- Not liked by your supervisor / boss: Unfortunately, we can’t always get along with everyone. If you feel you have a bad relationship with your manager, try to reconsider your relationship. Think about why your manager thinks this way and how you can change that. Maybe you can’t communicate well, or maybe your work styles are different. Whatever the reason, it’s up to you to correct it.
